Selected Sketchbook Pages
The sketchbook serves as a comfort zone for exploration and experimentation. The technical purpose of the sketchbook is to provide me with an anxiety free stage to explore the process of drawing and image making. The more personal purpose of the sketchbook is to provide a visual outlet for my state of mind as well as a means of documenting moments during my existence. Wandering lines form sleepy coffee shops, long road trips, and copious amounts of tea, while layers of acrylic and gouache form distorted faces and landscapes pulled from my subconscious. The result is a very personal collection of images. Like faded photographs newly discovered, these images reflect versions of my former self.
