Reserved | D&AD Monotype Brief

  • 2015 D&AD New Blood Awards | Monotype wanted submitters to create a new visual language for film advertising. One that relies on and relishes words, instead of falling back on the visual photographic imagery. Designers had to take a director of his or her choice and use the power of type to promote a retrospective screening of their films. The mandatory deliverables were at least one poster, one digital element, and at least one other touchpoint of the designers choice. 
    I decided to focus on David Fincher films that have the main character be someone who does not have many friends due to their personal traits (Fight Club, Gone Girl, and The Social Network). I decided to call the film festival RESERVED due to the fact that the main characters are reserved themselves.
